About Fig Tree Living

A Note From the Founder

Support. Guidance. Peace of Mind. These aren't just words on a logo — they are the promise behind everything Fig Tree Living does.

My name is Rebecca Hale, and I am a licensed Physical Therapist with more than 25 years of experience working in home health care. For two decades, I have had the privilege of stepping inside people's homes — seeing firsthand how they live, what they struggle with, and what they need to feel safe, capable, and dignified in the place they love most.

Over those years, I kept seeing the same gap. My patients and their families were navigating enormously complex decisions — about safety, about independence, about when and whether to consider a move — without anyone truly in their corner to guide them. The healthcare system treats the clinical pieces. But nobody was helping families see the whole picture.

Fig Tree Living was born from that gap.

I created this practice to be the resource I always wished my patients had — someone who combines clinical expertise with genuine, unhurried guidance. Whether you or your loved one is working to stay home as long as possible, or facing the emotional and logistical weight of transitioning to a new community, I am here to help you make informed, confident decisions.

What I Bring to You

With a foundation in physical therapy and home health, I am uniquely equipped to assess not just a person's medical needs, but the full picture of their life — their home environment, physical abilities, goals, and fears. I evaluate strength, balance, and mobility. I walk through homes with safety in mind. I sit with families during difficult conversations. And I help connect people with the right communities and resources when the time comes.

Fig Tree Living currently serves Northeast Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire — and I am proud to offer a deeply personal, one-on-one experience. When you work with me, you work WITH me.

Why a Fig Tree?

The fig tree is one of the oldest symbols of shelter, nourishment, and peace. In many traditions, sitting under a fig tree represents safety, rest, and the comfort of home. That is exactly what I want for every person I work with — to feel sheltered, supported, and at peace, wherever home may be.

I'd love to connect. Reach out today for a free initial consultation.

💬 Consultation & Advisory

Not sure what you need yet? Start here.

Sometimes families just need someone knowledgeable to think things through with. I offer one-time consultations for families who want expert perspective without a long-term commitment — a focused conversation that helps you get clarity and feel less alone in the process.

All services are available across Northeast Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. In-home and virtual appointments available.

🚗 Transition Support Services

For families navigating the move from home to a senior community

One of the most emotionally and logistically overwhelming experiences a family can face is deciding it's time for a change — and then figuring out what that change looks like. I help take the confusion and fear out of that process.

What this includes:

  • Needs Assessment — A thorough evaluation of physical, cognitive, emotional, and social needs to determine the right level of care

  • Community Placement Guidance — Honest, unbiased recommendations for independent living, assisted living, memory care, or skilled nursing — matched to your specific needs and preferences

  • Family Meetings & Difficult Conversations — I help facilitate conversations between family members when everyone has a different opinion about what comes next

  • Transition Coordination — Support before, during, and after a move to reduce stress and help your loved one settle in successfully

  • Emotional Support — Acknowledging that this is hard — and walking alongside you with patience and compassion
